60,000+ People Moving to Austin Each Year

Check out Independence Title’s State Director of Information Capital, Mark Sprague’s latest article about the national housing market potentially beginning it’s recovery with a special focus on how Texas is leading the way.  This is no surprising considering 50% of all new jobs created since the crash have been in Texas.  I found the following stats about Austin particularly interesting:

  • Over the past decade Austin’s employment is up 23%.
  • “There are over 60,000 people moving to Austin each year and over 20,000 new jobs created annually.” 
  • “There is less than 4.4 months supply of resale” homes and “6 months supply is considered equilibrium”.
